Meet Jim Buttonow, CPA

Jim Buttonow brings almost 40 years of experience to every client case. First, he spent 19 years working at the IRS, gaining first-hand insight into how the agency operates, it’s practices and procedures.

For the past 20 years after leaving the IRS, Jim became one of the most recognized experts in tax administration and technology. He has served as Chair of the IRS Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (ETAAC), represented North Carolina on the IRS Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP), and has been a featured thought leader in numerous industry conferences and publications.

Jim also co-founded Beyond415, a groundbreaking post-filing tax software platform adopted by thousands of tax professionals and major firms nationwide. His thought leadership, congressional testimony, and regular speaking engagements continue to influence how the profession approaches IRS representation.
